Who we are

About Forge & Form Therapy

Forge & Form Therapy was created for those who are ready to go beyond surface change. We work with individuals and couples who are driven, introspective, and no longer willing to settle for success that comes at the expense of self. Here, therapy isn’t about symptom reduction or generic advice—it’s about precision, depth, and transformation.

At the core of our work is a belief that change is both an act of disruption and creation. That in order to evolve, we must be willing to confront what has shaped us—internally, relationally, and culturally—and begin to form something more aligned, more honest, and more sustainable in its place. This process is rarely linear and often uncomfortable. But when done with skill, compassion, and rigor, it’s the kind of change that holds.

The name Forge & Form reflects this dual process: the forging of insight through challenge, and the forming of direction through clarity and choice. Whether through individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, intensives, or coaching, we work with clients at inflection points—times of rupture, transition, or awakening—when old strategies no longer work and something more real is being asked of them.

Our clients are not defined by diagnosis or dysfunction. They are founders, creatives, professionals, caregivers, athletes, perfectionists, skeptics, and seekers. Some are in conflict. Some are in crisis. Some are simply ready to stop performing resilience and start living with more congruence. What they share is a willingness to do real work.

Forge & Form Therapy is rooted in discretion, depth, and directness. It’s a place for people who don’t need another script—they need a space to think more clearly, feel more fully, and act with more intention. If you're ready to do the kind of work that doesn’t just change your life—but how you live it—we're here to go there with you.

Sean Maloney, LCSW

Sean Maloney is a seasoned clinical social worker and the founder of Forge & Form Therapy, where his unwavering commitment to depth and direction transforms the way clients experience change. With two decades of social work experience—including a transformative tenure as a clinical director in a leading private mental health practice—Sean brings a unique blend of insight, rigor, and empathy to his work.

Specializing in both individual and couples therapy, Sean is known for his integrative approach that draws from psychodynamic theory, evidence-based practices, and contemporary research on trauma, attachment, and relational systems. His method is deeply rooted in the belief that lasting change begins where surface-level symptoms end and the true work of self-understanding, identity, and connection takes over.

Sean’s work is driven by a dedication to guiding high-performing individuals and couples through pivotal life transitions. His clients are those in pursuit of not only professional excellence, but also a richer, more authentic internal landscape. By challenging old narratives and uncovering hidden patterns, he helps them forge new paths toward fulfillment and balance. This commitment is encapsulated in Forge & Form Therapy’s ethos, “Forge depth. Form direction.”

A sought-after clinician and coach, Sean combines clinical precision with a direct, compassionate manner. Whether he is helping a couple navigate deep-seated conflict or empowering a creative professional to break free from self-imposed limitations, his work is characterized by its thoughtful intensity and transformative impact.

Lexie Beckstrand, LPC

Lexie Beckstrand is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with thoughtful, curious adults who are trying to make sense of the lives they have built, and what comes next. She supports clients navigating transitions in identity, career, relationships, and belonging, as well as those who feel successful on the outside but disconnected or uncertain on the inside. Many of the people Lexie works with are accomplished and reflective, yet privately sit with questions about meaning, direction, or emotional closeness.

Having spent several years living overseas, Lexie understands what it is like to rebuild a sense of self and home across cultures. She is attuned to the internal negotiations that often accompany change, reinvention, and growth. Her work is grounded in the belief that our past shapes how we move through the present, both in ways we are aware of and in ways that quietly influence us. By exploring personal narratives and recurring patterns, Lexie helps clients develop clarity, intention, and a deeper understanding of themselves.

Lexie’s approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory and supported by evidence-based interventions, with a strong emphasis on emotional safety. To her, safety means a space where clients can be honest without needing to edit themselves, minimize their feelings, or worry about how they come across. She balances warmth with thoughtful insight, meeting each client at their own pace and tailoring the work to what feels most meaningful and useful for them. And she’ll joke, too- after all, therapy can be serious work, but it doesn’t need to feel heavy in every moment.

Lexie believes therapy is most impactful when it is a genuine relationship. She values nuance, humor, contradiction, and depth, and believes these emerge when two people show up with honesty and care. She sees the opportunity to truly know another person as a privilege, and she brings presence, respect, and real investment into the work she does with every client.
